Evolution of pseudoscientific ideas

Science is evolving, but pseudoscience is also changing in step with it. Astrology is being replaced by human design, hand line divination is being replaced by fingerprint personality analysis, and homeopathy is gradually being replaced by "quantum medicine" and "release-active" drugs. More and more new and modern scientific terms and concepts are woven into the efficient and profitable trade of air, sugar or "charged" water. The evolution of pseudoscientific ideas somewhat resembles the evolution of viruses: the most viable and "contagious" ones survive, able to penetrate human brains thanks to the vulnerabilities of our thinking - systematic cognitive errors.

We will expand on this metaphor and try to figure out why anti-science ideas are so popular and how to protect ourselves and our loved ones from them.
