At the BoF session, we will discuss how the requirements for QA specialists in the Russian market have evolved over the past 10 years. We will consider whether QA specialists need programming skills in 2024 and how this is related to the challenges we face in product development, given the rapid pace of change in the job market. We'll also reflect on whether the current situation is connected to changes in the school curriculum in recent years and what knowledge is necessary to successfully pass the Unified State Exam today.
We will talk about how we conduct interviews with candidates for the Full Stack QA position, focusing on their programming skills and what responses we expect. We will discuss how to train teams in writing automated tests, even if they haven't done so before, and what major challenges Full Stack QA specialists encounter when writing these tests.
The theme of the BoF session is inspired by memories of how we approached this in companies like Citymobil, SberZvuk, and VK. We will try to discuss both the successful aspects of our experience and the less successful ones, so you can try something similar in your own work.
At the BoF, in contrast to talks and roundtables, there is no division into participants and presenters: here everyone interacts with each other as equals. The main thing is not to off-topic and discuss the topic.
